MEPILEX dressing is a dressing made of atraumatic  polyurethane foam which is very absorbant. The outer layers are made from so called vapour-permeable polyurethane membranes which are bonded to the surface and act like a barrier from microorganisms and also liquids.

The wrinkled membrane is made in this way, when it absorbs a lot of liquids it slightly swells.

The side that covers the wound is coated with a layer of really soft and gentle silicone based sufrace, that doesn’t stick to the wound and its really great when you need to remove the MEPILEX from the wounds.

The silicone is also slightly tacky, which helps to protect the skin when using and doesnt hurt epiderm at all.
